Beneficiaries – Who will benefit from Ludlow Dog Day 2023

As a result of the money raised over the last 8 years at the annual Ludlow Dog Day, Ludlow Rotary Club has been able to distributed some £140,000 to a range of charities and community organizations. Karen May-Wilcox, Ludlow Rotary Club President, on confirming the beneficiaries for 2023, said

“After a 2-year break, we are pleased to announce that Ludlow Fun Dog Day will be going ahead again this year.  For the last 7 years Ludlow Rotary Club has raised significant funds for local charities. The jewel in our crown is the Ludlow Dog Day event, which raises approximately £20,000 a year for good causes. In addition to the two main beneficiaries, smaller sums are awarded to local charities and organisations via our own charity Ludlow Rotary Cares.

The whole emphasis about Dog Day is to have fun. Not only for us but also for our dogs. There will be multiple activities for all breeds of dog, whether they be small, medium or large, including various classes such as Waggiest Tail, Pettiest Bitch, Most Handsome Dog together with Fun Scurries, Dog Racing, Have a go Agility, Flyball and Hoopers.

There will be some wonderful displays in the main Rotary Ring, including Paws for Thought Display Team, Blissgate Dog Obedience, Heelwork to Music and, NEW for 2022 will be Bob Hogg with his Dog and Duck Display. We are also extremely lucky to have an excellent venue in Stokesay Court with its’ magnificent grounds and once again we are immensely grateful to Caroline Magnus for welcoming us back to her home and for working so closely with Ludlow Rotary Club in organising this event.

Ludlow Dog Day is a time for enjoyment and we look forward to welcoming you all as individuals, families and, importantly, your dogs, to enjoy with us all the glorious celebration of the relationship between us and our canine friends.”
